TEAGUE TURNS 80

About 15 years ago I interned at Walter Dorwin Teague Associates in Seattle. For me it was a summer critical in my development in which I spent focused on designing and drawing self-directed projects, work I'm still proud of to this day.

Unfortunately, it was also the dark days of working at Teague. Their only client of note was Boeing, they were closing their New York City offices, and the CEO was a contemporary of Mr. Teague's. Fortunately, their staff was likely the most skilled group of designers outside of Detroit or Los Angeles. What I learned from them, Steven King in particular, has been invaluable in my professional career.

Happy birthday Teague.

More info about one of the first industrial designers and his studio can be found at Popular Mechanics, and Wikipedia.
